Introducing Mail Merge
The greatest insights in the world are useless if you can’t act on them. Which is why our mantra at Tolemi is “Data, insights, action.” Our Product team has been laser-focused on adding features that allow our users to do more of their job within our suite of applications. We have launched Alerts to make it simple to flag properties that fall out of compliance or have a change in status that needs attention. Following and Notes let users track changes to a specific property and communicate with co-workers to make sure the appropriate follow-up happens.
We heard from a number of you that BuildingBlocks is a simple but powerful way to identify a group of addresses that need to be contacted via a mass mailing. Use cases include abutters that need to be alerted of a zoning board review, potential rental properties that are required to register with the city, or eligible residents that you want to make aware of a grant opportunity. But we also heard that you were spending valuable time to reformat the export from BuildingBlocks to be compatible with a Mail Merge, and that sometimes you needed to mail the property owners, not the actual property address.
So we are excited to introduce the Mail Merge feature in BuildingBlocks. Now, in two clicks, you can download a CSV formatted and ready to go for your mass mailings. We even give you two options: one is addressed to ‘Resident’ at the physical address of all properties selected. The other enables you to send a mailing to every unique owner at their mailing address on file for the group of properties you’ve filtered. The owner export also includes comma-separated list of all properties owned by each owner, which can be used to populate mailers.
From the Map View, click ‘Export’ at the bottom of your screen and select ‘Export as Mail Merge’. A pop up modal with give you the option to generate a CSV with either the Owner Name, Owner Address, and Properties Owned or the Property Address. Click Generate, and the CSV will download in seconds, ready to be integrated with Mail Merge.
